About Me

I am more commonly referred to as Victoria Leigh Parenti, MA, LPC, NCC. I was born and raised

in New Orleans, and I attended Mount Carmel Academy for high school, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011 (GEAUX Butterflies). Afterward, I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Liberal Arts in 2014. After that, I returned home to my New Orleans roots where I pursued a post-baccalaureate degree in counseling. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Holy Cross with a Master of Arts in Counseling with a special concentration in School Counseling. Throughout graduate school, I trained and counseled in a variety of settings including the following: Thomas E. Chambers’ Counseling and Training Center, Department of Juvenile Services/Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, East Jefferson High School, and Beacon Behavioral Outpatient Clinic. I also graduated as a member of the Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Honors Society.

Since graduating in 2018, I have provided counseling services across the Greater New Orleans area and served as a school counselor at Archbishop Rummel High School, a school counselor at Holy Cross School, and a therapist at Beacon Behavioral Outpatient Clinic. My diverse experience has allowed me to develop a systematic approach to therapy. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA), and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Additionally, I am a member of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Crisis-Response team. For two years, I trained under the supervision of Stephanie Ducros, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC, and Roy Salgado, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT, NCC, while working as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). However, I am now an independently Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, #7508) in the state of Louisiana as well as a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC, #1094464). I have a passion for working with adolescents (ages 12-18) and young adults (ages 19-35) from a variety of backgrounds with a myriad of issues.

Families and clients under my care have faced struggles such as family conflict, depression, anxiety, peer relationships issues, self-esteem, life transitions, divorce, anger issues, academic and behavioral struggles, addiction, self-harm, suicidal ideations, loss, grief, and trauma. I utilize and incorporate several different counseling techniques, but Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my overarching therapeutic approach. I am the sole owner and practicing clinician at Victoria Leigh, LLC, and I created this business in response to the growing need and high demand for mental health services in the Greater New Orleans area during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you or someone you know is in need of mental health services, please reach out to me. I aim to help my clients achieve Healing, Growth, and Empowerment throughout the therapeutic journey.

Besides my passion for counseling, I am also an avid UL Ragin’ Cajun, LSU Fighting Tigers, and New Orleans Saints fan. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I have recently discovered an interest in cooking Southern dishes to reconnect with my French and Italian roots. I am a proud New Orleans native and happy to call New Orleans my home.
